Discrimination in the Workplace: The Law of EEO ID#: LEGL 106 Objective
Complaints of workplace discrimination continue to be one of the “big ticket” areas of employer liability. The purpose of this session is to provide participants with an overview of federal and state civil rights laws with a focus on trends at the EEOC. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) received a record-breaking number of discrimination charges in Fiscal Year 2008 and recovered approximately $376 million dollars in monetary relief. In order to protect your organization from liability for discrimination it is essential that management be trained to spot the potential issues as they arise. Participants will leave this session with actions employers should implement to reduce exposure in discrimination charges.
