Compensation Administration: Basic Design and Development
ID#: COMP 101

Objective
To provide participants with a strong foundation of compensation principles which can be applied to their organization and Total Rewards philosophy. This class is foundational to MSEC’s total rewards program. Participants will view compensation from both an internal and external perspective. They will create a comprehensive base pay program that focuses on business alignment and organizational goals. Hands-on exercises and group discussions are designed to assist each participant in developing skills for designing or revising and maintaining compensation plans.

  • Exploring the job evaluation system that is right for individual organizations
  • Understanding the fundamentals of market pricing
  • Building pay grades by principle
  • Communicating and implementing the program
  • Maintaining what has been developed

Designed For
This foundational compensation class is best suited for managers, HR generalists and/or compensation specialists, with 1-5 years of experience, and those who have some responsibility or interest in the development and maintenance of an organization’s base pay program. It is highly recommended that participants complete this class prior to taking the Compensation Administration: Beyond Base Pay seminar.
