Models Available to Test Drive
Customize your day. Attend all of the classes in a single track, or mix and match the five seminars of your choice.
On the Employment Law Track
- Investigations in the Workplace (EL-1)
The employer's good faith effort to "prevent and promptly correct" instances of harassing conduct, or other forms of unlawful discrimination, limits liability. This seminar covers all aspects of the fact finding process needed to support your decision.
- Unions: Labor 101 (EL-2)
Learn union and non-union requirements under the National Labor Relations Act. This includes statutes and case law that affect union organizing, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, and arbitration processes.
- OSHA: Compliance and Enforcement - What You Need to Know (EL-3)
A single employee complaint to OSHA is likely to send an inspector to your door. Unless you are a government employer, you are covered by the OSHA Act. Attend this seminar and learn employer rights, basic recordkeeping requirements, and OSHA procedures when an employer has been cited.
- Employment Law Essentials Certificate Program (EL-4)
This certificate program provides participants with an intensive week-long seminar covering the essentials of employment law. Interact with many of our legal subject matter experts as you receive a comprehensive overview of what you need to know about the law in today’s workplace.
- I-9 Compliance (EL-5)
Despite its short length, the I-9 Form presents many challenges and potential pitfalls for employers. This seminar explores the I-9 process, including initial verification of work authorization, re-verification, and conducting internal audits. We will also provide up-to-date information on enforcement activities by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
On the Leadership & Organizational Development Track
- Developing Interpersonal Communication Skills(LOD-1)
Explore how your life experiences, perceptions, and choices impact your ability to interact and communicate effectively with others. Create a plan for yourself to improve communication.
- Developing and Maintaining Trust in the Workplace(LOD-2)
High trust in the workplace translates into greater productivity, lower turnover, and a stronger bottom line. In this class, you will explore the meaning of trust, assess your ability to build trust, and develop strategic skills to establish and maintain trust.
- Social Media: A Practical Guide for HR Professionals (LOD-3)
What does social media mean for your workplace? This seminar focuses on the internal and legal implications of social media as it relates to all aspects of the employment life cycle. Develop a step-by-step social media action plan you can immediately implement.
- Leadership...Powered by the Human Element (LOD-4)
This course combines the best of behavioral and neurological science to help you become more emotionally and socially intelligent. You will experience self-awareness exercises, skill-building practices, and peer feedback to learn how you are perceived by others.
- Managing Stress in the Work Environment (LOD-5)
Become more aware of your stress responses, create a sense of choice and control over what happens to you, and achieve a greater sense of balance between your personal and work lives. This class provides a practical approach for helping you make stress work for you rather than against you.
On the Human Resources Track
- Performance Appraisal Design: The Form and More! (HR-1)
If you are struggling with updating or creating a performance appraisal program that will work in your organization, this seminar is for you. Learn how to develop a system that focuses individual and organizational efforts on achieving high performance and competitive advantage.
- Recordkeeping: Surviving the Paper Avalanche (HR-2)
The HR world today involves a constant flow of records and paperwork. How should your company organize its records to be in legal compliance and meet its needs? What should you keep and what can be discarded? This seminar will help you learn to simplify your recordkeeping process.
- Violence at Work: An Introduction for Supervisors and Managers (HR-3)
Could you benefit from practical information that addresses threats, bullying, and other forms of violence in the workplace? This seminar will provide you with proactive prevention measures as well as skills on how to respond to the escalation of violence.
- Benefit Administration: FSAs, HSAs, HRAs - Maximizing the Benefits You Offer (HR-4)
Benefit plans under Section 125 have become an important employee benefit for most organizations. They can result in significant tax savings for both employees and employers. Learn how to maximize Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA).
- Motivating From the Inside Out (HR-5)
Research has shown that "intrinsic" rewards—those positive emotional charges we get from excelling at work we find meaningful—are more powerful influences than many tangible rewards. In this new seminar, we provide you with insights and tools for motivating employees.
